Condé Nast Product Design

As a product designer for Condé Nast’s Global Product and Technology team I worked to improve content management systems, editorial tools, and design systems.

Live Stories

In 2022 Condé Nast stakeholders wanted to add a new live story functionality for writers to cover current events; such as the MET Gala for Vogue, Apple Events for Wired, and awards shows for Vanity Fair. I worked with other designers, editors, writers, product leadership, engineers, and social teams to help form the shape of live updates and design an interface that writers could easily use on the ground.

Copilot

One of the largest undertakings during my time on the Condé Nast Global Product and Technology team was a migration and update of Copilot: the editorial CMS that serves every publication at the company. In addition to updating technologies, improving accessibility support, and providing global access; design and product sought to add new features to improve user experience.

Moving publishing actions into a floating action bar gave more screen real estate to Copilot users, allowed writers to minimize or expand the interface while working, and created a new visual strategy to present actions across internal tools and systems.

Asset Management

Copilot users frequently requested better media asset management in Copilot, so my team focused on creating a flexible media asset component to populate throughout the CMS. This component needed to accommodate articles, galleries, reviews, products, all photo sizes, their accompanying metadata, and inline editing actions. We were able to create a component that could work for all content types and also in multiple contexts and layouts.
